This professional watch pin punch is an essential watchmaking accessory for anyone who wants to resize a metal bracelet, change a leather strap or service a watch at home with the precision of a professional watchmaker. Sold individually and engineered for repeated use, it lets you remove watch pins and spring bars cleanly, without scratching the case or marking the lugs of your favourite timepiece.
Product overview
The tool is designed to handle the two most common watch servicing operations: removing the watch pins that hold the links of a steel bracelet together, and compressing the spring bars that anchor a strap between the lugs of the case or the two halves of the clasp. 3 different tip diameters, stable metal frame. The body fits comfortably in the hand and provides enough leverage to push out stubborn pins without slipping. Even an enthusiast tackling their first link-resizing job on a Seiko 5, a Tissot PRC 200 or an Omega Seamaster bracelet will find the geometry intuitive.

When to use it
Reach for this professional watch pin punch whenever you need to shorten a metal bracelet to your wrist size, when a spring bar needs to be replaced because of corrosion or play in the lugs, or when you want to swap a leather strap for a NATO or a rubber dive strap. It is also the right choice if you collect vintage Rolex, Tudor, Omega or Seiko references and prefer to handle minor servicing yourself rather than sending the watch out for every routine adjustment. Pin-and-collar bracelets, split-pin bracelets and screw-link constructions are not always interchangeable, so always confirm the link type before starting.
How to use it — step by step
- Place the bracelet on a soft cloth or on a dedicated bracelet holder to protect the finish.
- Identify the arrow on the link indicating the direction in which the pin must be pushed out.
- Align the tip of the tool with the visible end of the watch pin and check that it is sitting square.
- Apply steady pressure — or turn the screw mechanism — until the pin emerges on the opposite side.
- Pull the pin out with tweezers, separate the unwanted link and re-thread the pin through the reassembled bracelet.
- For spring bar work, place the forked tip of the spring bar tool on the shoulder of the spring bar, compress it, and ease the bar out of the lug hole.
- When refitting a strap, insert one end of the spring bar first, compress the other end and let it click into the opposite lug hole.
Quality and origin
Pompe-de-Montre selects watchmaking tools and spare parts for their reliability and their value for money. Tips are made from hardened steel so they keep their shape after dozens of operations, and the body is designed to be reusable. Spare tips are referenced in our catalogue so you can refresh the tool whenever a tip becomes blunt. Each order is dispatched within 24 hours from our French workshop with full tracking, and our customer service can help you choose the correct spring bar or pin if you are not sure which reference fits your watch.
Frequently asked questions
Will this tool work on a Rolex Oyster or Tudor bracelet? Most Rolex and Tudor bracelets use screw pins or split pins; check the bracelet type before use. A pin punch is suitable for pin-and-collar designs.
Can I use it on a ceramic bracelet? Yes, ceramic links use the same pin system as steel links — work gently and support the link to avoid chipping the ceramic.
What if I lose the watch pin? Replacement watch pins and spring bars are available in our shop in a wide range of lengths and diameters; measure the original part with a caliper before ordering.
