This wooden storage box contains a professional manual pin punch and a set of ten interchangeable stainless steel tips ranging from 0.40 mm to 2.00 mm in diameter. With every common watch pin size covered in a single organised case, it is the reference accessory for anyone who works regularly on bracelets, Swatch and Flik Flak watches, or any timepiece using removable pins.

Product overview

The wooden case keeps each tip in its own labelled compartment, so the right diameter is always at hand and no tip ever ends up at the bottom of a drawer. The handle of the pin punch is 8 cm long with a textured grip pattern that guarantees a firm hold even after a long bench session. A side opening in the handle accepts a tool used to swap tips in seconds. The whole set is built in silver-coloured stainless steel — both the handle and the ten tips — for corrosion resistance and long-term geometry retention.

The diameter range from 0.40 mm to 2.00 mm covers virtually every removable pin in modern and vintage watches: dress watches with very small pins, mid-range steel bracelets, sport divers with larger pins, and even some atypical pin sizes found on older or fashion-brand pieces. This is the reason this kit is the recommended single purchase for a small workshop that wants to be ready for any incoming bracelet.

When to use it

Use this kit whenever a watch arrives whose pin diameter is not known in advance — having ten diameters on hand means the right one is always available. It is the right level of equipment for shops that resize bracelets every day, for collectors with mixed brands, and for anyone who is tired of discovering mid-job that the only spare tip is the wrong size. The kit can also be used on Swatch and Flik Flak straight bars to remove the strap — our guide details that procedure.

It is not designed for screwed bracelets (Rolex Oyster, certain Omega and Breitling) which require the BERGEON 7260 screwdriver. It is also not the right tool for leather/silicone/rubber strap changes, which use a positioning awl on the case-strap interface.

How to use / install

  1. Identify the pin diameter to extract — visually or by trying the closest tip first.
  2. Remove the tip from its compartment in the wooden case.
  3. Open the side opening of the handle and lock the chosen tip in place.
  4. Position the bracelet on a support block on its edge, with the pin aligned over the exit slot.
  5. Observe the arrow stamped inside the link to identify the correct direction.
  6. Insert the tip vertically into the pin bore and tap with a watchmaker's hammer in short controlled strokes.
  7. Collect the pin; remove the link; refit the bracelet and seat the pin back from the opposite direction.
  8. Return the tip to its labelled compartment so it is found immediately next time.

Quality & origin

The kit follows the standard of professional watchmaking accessories. Stainless steel resists corrosion and stays bright; the side-opening interchange system speeds up tip changes significantly compared with screw-threaded systems. The wooden case is more than packaging — it is a long-term storage system that prevents loss and helps keep tips ordered by diameter. The kit is recommended for workshop use; tips can be re-sharpened on a fine stone and replaced individually if needed.

FAQ

Will it work on a Rolex bracelet?

No. Rolex Oyster, President and Jubilee are screwed and require the BERGEON 7260.

Can I use it on a Swatch?

Yes. Swatch and Flik Flak use straight bars that this pin punch can push out. Our online guide shows the technique.

Are the tips really stainless?

Yes — both the handle and the ten tips are stainless steel, with the silver finish characteristic of that alloy.

Workshop notes

The most worn diameters in practice are 0.80 mm and 1.00 mm, which cover the bulk of modern steel bracelets. Plan additional spares if you process many bracelets per week. The 0.40 mm and 0.60 mm tips are reserved for very thin pins typically found on dress watches and certain ladies' models — handle them gently, as small diameters bend more easily under off-axis pressure. The wooden box should be stored away from humidity to preserve the labelling and prevent the lid from sticking.
