This replacement tip refreshes the working end of a pin punch when the original has bent, blunted or broken. Compatible with our blue-handle pin punch and with the hammer-driven pin punch, it threads onto the tool's removable handle and restores it to full performance in seconds. It is also the right spare to top up the 5-tip pin punch kit.
Product overview
The replacement tip is a small steel rod, 1.5 cm long and 2 mm in diameter at the threaded base, with a finely ground working point. The thread allows the tip to be screwed onto the removable handle of compatible pin punches, replacing a worn tip without buying a new tool. Although small, the tip is what does the actual work on the pin head; keeping a spare on the bench prevents the disappointment of a job interrupted mid-resize.
Made of hardened steel, the tip resists bending under axial hammer impact. The diameter range covered by our different tips fits the most common watch pins in service today, from 0.4 mm dress pins up to 2 mm bracelet pins.

When to use it
Order replacement tips when an existing tip shows wear (rounded point, slight bend, micro-pitting) or as preventive stock for a workshop that resizes bracelets daily. The right moment to swap a tip is before it begins to slip on pin heads — a slipping tip leads to off-axis blows and damaged links. For shops, ordering in bulk benefits from the volume pricing scheme.
Compatible with the most common pin punches in our catalogue. Not designed as a stand-alone tool — it must be fitted onto a compatible handle.
How to use / install
- Identify the pin punch handle to refresh (blue handle or hammer-type).
- Unscrew the worn tip from the handle by turning anti-clockwise.
- Inspect the new tip for visible damage to the thread or point.
- Screw the new tip into the handle clockwise, finger tight.
- Verify alignment: the tip should be axially aligned with the handle, with no visible runout.
- Test on a sacrificial pin or in the empty link channel of a support block.
- Store the worn tip in a sealed container in case it is salvageable.
- Keep the spare tips in a small labelled box for quick access.
Quality & origin
Hardened tool steel, machine-ground point, consistent thread cut. The tip is produced to the same quality standard as the original tips supplied with our pin punches and pin punch kits. Bulk pricing makes it the right consumable for workshops handling daily volume.
FAQ
Will it fit my pin punch?
Yes if the punch is one of ours — blue handle or hammer model. For Bergeon and other professional brands, check the original tip thread; the standard differs.
Can I sharpen a worn tip instead of replacing it?
A slightly blunted tip can be touched up on a fine sharpening stone; a bent or pitted tip should be replaced.
Do you offer multiple diameters?
Yes, the shop carries replacement tips for several pin diameters. Check the listing or the 10-tip professional kit if you need a complete diameter range.
Inventory tips
Keeping at least two tips per active diameter is a good practice for any active workshop. Diameters of 0.80 mm and 1.00 mm wear faster than others because they handle the bulk of modern bracelet pins. A small magnetic dish on the bench keeps the spares visible and prevents loss; a labelled compartment box is even better for shared workshops.
